Interview

1. Why did you choose to join Sounder?

As a new hire, it was important to me that the company I chose to join had an informative on-boarding process. Right away, I knew that this would not be an issue. Brittany, Tim, and Dan all took time to speak with me and help me get a full understanding of Sounder and what the expectations were for the Client Services position. They explained everything in perfect detail and made my decision very easy.

I think that podcasting already has a major impact on the world of media and it will only get bigger. There are a lot of really interesting and cutting edge AI problems Sounder is tackling, and the team is really great.

2. Tell us a bit about your role on the team.

As the new Client Services Manager, it is my job to act as a liaison between the podcast creators and companies who want to place ads in their podcast. I assist both sides during the process and make sure that everything happens seamlessly for both creators and advertisers.

3. What podcasts are you streaming lately? Why do you like them?

A few podcasts that I have been streaming lately have been Crime Junkie and Smartless. I enjoy Crime Junkie because I am a huge true crime fan and the story telling of the episodes is done very well. As for Smartless, I love comedy and the hosts of the show are hilarious and always have on really interesting guests.

4. What’s an interesting fact about you most people don’t know?

People probably do not know that I have lived in over seven different states across the United States. Moving around so much as a kid really helped me come out of my shell more as I grew up and allowed me to become more comfortable with new environments quicker than most. It also allowed me to make friends all across the country and I always love catching up with them.

5. Who’s a podcaster or thought leader you admire today? Why?

A podcaster that I admire is my father. He is the host of the Huddle Up with Gus podcast. I have seen him work so hard to grow his podcast over the years. He always has great guests and has in depth conversations with them about how sports shaped their lives. It is extremely interesting to see a behind-the-scenes look at podcasting and how everything is done.

6. What career accomplishment are you most proud of?

My career accomplishment that I am most proud of is while interning with the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the department I interned with was able to execute incredible events during Enshrinement Week. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I learned so much about the sports industry during my time there.

Fast Five

8. Go-to karaoke song?

My go to karaoke song would probably be Robbery by Juice WRLD.

9. What’s your favorite way to spend your free time?

My favorite way to spend my free time is going golfing or watching sports with my brother.

10. What’s your favorite trip you’ve been on?

Probably my family trip to Belize in Central America. The rainforest there is incredible.

11. If you could have a superpower, which would you choose?

I would choose super speed, so that I would never be late to anything.

12. What’s something still on your bucket list?

Traveling the world is something that is definitely still on my bucket list.
